Windows Vista and Windows 7

Click the Windows Logo (start button) at the bottom left side of your desktop

Click on “Control Panel” from the pop-up Window

Underneath “Network and Internet” Click on “Connect to the Internet” It will then ask “How do you want to connect?” Click on “Dial up”

  • Next to “Dial-up phone number” Type in 753-5465
  • Next to Username-type your username (remember not to add @thevillages.net and it is case sensitive
  • Next to password-type your password (also case sensitive)
  • Next to “Connection Name” Type in TheVillages

Place a check next to “Allow other people to use this connection”
You will then get a box that reads “Windows needs your permission” Click on “Continue” Click on “Connect” or you can click on “Skip” then “Setup connection anyway” then click on “Close”

To browse the Internet, click on Windows Logo (start button) at the bottom left side of your desktop and click on “Internet Explorer”

E-Mail

After you submit the application to open your Villages.net account, a “virtual mailbox” is created for each logon name you wrote on the Villages.net application form.

How to access your email from any computer:

Here are some of the basics of accessing and using your email account at www.thevillages.net:

  1. Double-click the Internet Explorer Icon on your desktop or other browser (Firefox, Google Chrome) Could be located in “Programs”
  2. Click up in the long white box labeled “Address” at the top of the screen, and type www.thevillages.net ,and then press the “Enter” button on your keyboard.
  3. �Log in to TheVillages.Net with your login name and password, and then click “Login” you will then click on “E-Mail”

You can also use Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail which is programs included on your windows, instructions are in the “Help” section on website.
